Observation Data using DataFed.net
The Wildland
Fire Assessment System (WFAS) provides meteorological and fire danger data
collected at a network of fire weather stations across the U.S. WFAS is
maintained by the U.S. Forest Service. Currently, observation and forecast data
are presented as static tables and spatially interpolated maps.
The following web applications illustrates the use of DataFed web
services to build a dynamic application that allows for customized maps while
maintaining the ability to browse the archive. The maps are generated
on-the-fly using a “chain” of web services. The image URL can be embedded and
controlled in any other web application.
WFAS Observation Data Spatio-temporal Browser (client side) A browser with controllable DataFed map view and time view built using JavaScript and HTML.
WFAS Observation Data Spatio-temporal Browser Datafed.net (server side) A browser with controllable DataFed map view and time view built using the .NET Environment.
